Steve Annetts:
Lead Guitar -
Vocals
Steve
has been playing, singing and writing rock music for over 4 decades.
His early influences
include Paul Rodgers (Free) Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) Joe Cocker and Rod
Stewart, in fact Steve had the honour of working with Johnny Glover (Frees
manager) and Ian Gillan the singer with Deep Purple back in the 1970’s.
Steve’s first success
was in 1972 with the rock /blues band Heartbreaker who were signed to EMI.
The 1980’s saw the
forming of the Heavy rock band After Dark who released 2 singles the very
successful “Evil Woman” and a song called “Deathbringer” which was from
the later released album “Masked by Midnight”
Then in 1992 Steve got
together with musicians from “Heartbreaker” and “After Dark” and
“Dangerous Age” was formed, this band released an album in 1995 on the
German record label “Long Island” called “Troubled Times”.
Steve says that he
loves being a part of Highway because most of the music is what he grew up
with.
And most of all because
Highway has grown into being a family and not just a great band, its not
about individuals its about the 5 members of the band and would not be the
same without any of them.

PAULA PRITCHARD: VOCALS
Well,
I was a late starter, my first band was in 2001, a two piece acoustic set
up “skinfull” with my good friend Jase, then late 2002. I was then
hijacked by Hamish Laing to join forces with Steve Annetts in “Dangerous
age” but after a short while was hijacked again to join the boys in
Highway!
This band has bought me several fantastic years of
kick arse music, the chance to sing songs I have grown up with and always
loved, the chance to write, a much loved extended family and last but NO
means least my husband “Dave Pritchard, guitar”.xx Long may it continue!
Gear; Shure SM58 mic, RhythmTech Pro tambourine ,
lots of strepsils
beer! and
Jack Daniels
Influences: Everyone that ever sang with power and
passion!
Music listened to: Rock, thrash, blues, blue grass ,
folk, funk, soul , reggae…..If I’ve missed anything out I’m sorry but you
get the idea.

DAVE PRITCHARD – GUITAR

Bought
my first guitar for my 21st birthday (a crappy thing with a
really high action), but it just made my fingers hurt! I persevered
though, and it was many years later that I joined my first band, the
infamous Heavy Load, including Hamish on drums, doing mainly Free covers
with a few of our own thrown in, and had an absolute blast! A few short
lived projects later, and Highway was born! Our direction was complete
when Hamish managed to persuade Paula Frank (now my wife!) to join. To be
able to gig with these guys is amazing, we have such a great time on
stage, and am constantly surprised at what we can bring out of each other.
We do what we do and we do it well!
Influences – how long have you got? (Paul Kossoff,
Neil Young, Randy Rhoads, Jimmy Page, Angus etc)
Gear –
Gibson Les Paul Standard guitar
Marshall JCM2000 DSL 50 Head
Marshall 1960 Lead 4x12 Cab
Marshall 25/50 Silver Jubilee 1x12 Combo
